Reda Amalou Design is a Paris-based studio creating high-end contemporary furniture and objects defined by architectural clarity, material sensitivity, and balance. Founded in 2013 by architect and designer Reda Amalou, the studio develops pieces where form, proportion, and craftsmanship are carefully considered.
Rooted in architectural thinking, each design is conceived as part of a wider spatial dialogue, bridging architecture, design, and art. Natural materials including bronze, wood, leather, stone, and lacquer are worked by hand, with close attention to texture, finish, and construction, allowing the material to speak with restraint and precision.
With over 25 years of experience, Reda Amalou brings an architect’s eye to furniture design, informed by his international background and longstanding collaboration with skilled craftsmen worldwide. The resulting pieces are timeless, refined, and quietly expressive, bringing elegance and strength to contemporary interior spaces.
Materials & Design
Shaping form through material, structure, and proportion, Reda Amalou Design approaches furniture as a natural extension of architecture. Each piece is conceived with a clear structural logic, where material choice and construction play a central role in defining presence and balance.
Bronze, wood, leather, stone, and lacquer are selected for their tactile richness and expressive potential. Worked by hand in collaboration with skilled craftsmen, these materials are shaped, assembled, and finished with precision, from patinated metals to carefully layered lacquers and finely worked woods.
Texture, weight, and surface are treated as essential elements of the design, revealing depth through touch and light.
Guided by a philosophy of restraint and material honesty, the studio creates pieces that blur the boundary between functional object and sculptural form. Reda Amalou Design offers a bespoke design service dedicated to studying and responding to custom requests. Dimensions, materials, and finishes are carefully adapted to each project, with proposals developed through in-depth study and 3D visualisations, before being crafted by expert cabinetmakers, upholsterers, and metalworkers into refined, made-to-measure pieces.
