Founded by Jean Driésen, Maison Borio brings together a passion for exceptional craftsmanship, fine wine and architectural precision. Inspired by the traditions of French viticulture and artisanal excellence, Jean envisioned a studio that would elevate wine storage into an art form—merging ancestral techniques with modern innovation and technology. Maison Borio specialises in both the design, creation and delivery of bespoke wine cellars, refined furniture pieces, and custom refrigerated interior elements. They offer an end to end solution, from studying the wine that is being stored, the technicalities of how it should be preserved, creative schemes including 3D renders through to complete installation and maintenance. Working alongside interior designers, architects and private collectors, together with Maison Borio we are able to offer a highly personalised approach that transforms each commission into a timeless expression of craftsmanship and elegance. From intimate home cellars to large-scale architectural installations, every project is handled with care, from design consultation and technical planning to material selection and on-site installation, anywhere in the world.

Born from wine & crafted to live with wine
Maison Borio traces its origins to a family wine estate nestled in the arid region of Corbières, where vineyards dominate the landscape. The name “Borio” is inspired by traditional dry-stone shelters built by local shepherds to shield themselves from the sun. These structures symbolise the protective essence of Maison Borio’s creations, safeguarding wines from the ravages of time and the elements.
Founder Jean de Driésen’s passion for wine began in his youth, constructing cabins from his grandfather’s wine boxes in the family vineyard. This early fascination evolved into a commitment to crafting the most exquisite cellars for the world’s finest wines.

Maison Borio creates every wine cellar to order, combining precision, elegance, and a deep understanding of each client’s needs. From dimensions and layout to refrigeration and glazing, every element is thoughtfully tailored.
Clients are invited to select from refined materials, wood and metal finishes, and bespoke details that define the cabinet’s character.
Once the 3D design is approved, Maison Borio’s artisans bring it to life with exceptional care and craftsmanship.
