Panama II Screen
A freestanding screen shaped by material history and vertical proportion. Crafted from walnut Zapatero, the wood originates from a forest submerged beneath the waters of Lake Gatun in Panama in 1913, where it remained for nearly a century, preserved and transformed by time.
Recovered by indigenous Panamanians diving to clear the lake for navigation, the timber bears the quiet marks of immersion and age. The screen allows this material narrative to remain legible, articulated through composed planes and a discreet brass hinge that enables movement without interrupting continuity.
